THE U.S. EMBASSY YEREVAN ANNOUNCES AN OPEN HOUSE OF THE CONSULAR SECTION FOR ARMENIAN MEDIA

The U.S. Embassy Yerevan announces an open house of the consular section for Armenian media on January 31, 2008 which has been designated as this year´s Consular Leadership Day (CLD). Each year, consular sections at U.S. Embassies worldwide close on one day to the public to focus on ways of improving operations. The theme for this year´s CLD is "Practicing 360-degree Diplomacy", i.e. conducting internal and external public outreach. Our goal is to demystify the visa application process by showing the steps involved in applying from a visa from start to finish on the visa appointment date. The consular section will be closed to the public on January 31, 2008 to provide our media guests an opportunity to be "walked through" the visa application process by our Consular Section Chief. The event will include a Question-and-Answer session.
