Passport Services
All full-validity passports are now printed in a domestic U.S. passport facility. Your application will be sent electronically to the U.S. where the passport will be issued and returned to the Consular Section in Yerevan via DHL. Turnaround time for new passports and renewals at U.S. Embassy Yerevan is approximately seven to 10 days. American citizens are encouraged to apply early for renewal of expiring passports.
The Consular Section will continue to issue short-term passports only in limited emergency cases. Such passports will be limited in validity and cannot be extended. Bearers are required to exchange the limited validity passports for a full-validity photo-digitized passport upon completion of their emergency travel.
Passport applicants must bring the following:
- Most recent passport or a copy of the police report for a lost or stolen passport.
- In the case of a first-time application, we require proof of citizenship such as an original birth certificate or original naturalization certificate.
- Two 2"x2" (5x5 cm) passport photographs showing a front view of the applicant´s face against a light background.
- The appropriate fee: USD 100 or the equivalent in Armenian dram for first-time adult applicants (16 years of age or older), and for cases in which the passport has been lost or stolen; USD 75 or the equivalent in Armenian dram for renewal of an adult passport; USD 85 or the equivalent in Armenian dram for children. The fee must be paid in cash.
- In the case of a first-time application or lost or stolen passport, we require proof of identity. Documents must show the applicant's face clearly and full name, and may include an original driver's license or other photo identification.
